A raccoon in a livetrap

One homeowner had a problem with two raccoons accessing loose dirt near a filter system for their in-ground pool. The animals’ tracks were all over the pool cover and they were very close to the back door of the home. We set several cage traps and removed two large raccoons in two nights.

A raccoon squeezed into a corner of a porch roof in the daytime and looking a bit strange.

The second case involved a raccoon that was acting suspicious. This raccoon was hanging out in an open porch area for close to 12 hours during the day. Raccoons are nocturnal, so seeing one in the daytime can be a cause for concern. In this case, the raccoon showed signs of mange throughout its body. We had to put it down.

Raccoons are considered rabies vectors, meaning they can carry rabies and spread it to other animals or to humans. They cannot be released when removed by a licensed nuisance wildlife operator.
